It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Monday, May 7, 2012
Whoa... time flies!  It feels like just yesterday I was writing my last Monday post.  Here's what I've been up to this week:

68.  Burnout by Adrienne Maria Vrettos (finished 4/29) Powerful story about a girl who loses 24 hours and her quest to find out what happened during that time.
68.  Wither by Lauren DeStefano (finished 5/1) First in a dystopian series where boys die at age 25 and girls at age 20.  Interesting spin with a little romance.
69.  The Last Boyfriend by Nora Roberts (finished 5/2) "Grown up" romantic story.  Classic Nora.
70.  Pink by Lili Wilkinson (finished 5/4) Great story about a girl trying to figure out who she is and where she belongs.
71.  Insurgent by Veronica Roth (finished 5/6) Book 2 in the Divergent trilogy.  It's awesome.  Need I say more?

This week I need to:
  • Finish Entwined
  • Read Shatter Me
  • Five Fourths of July
  • The Iron Thorn and
  • Secrets of a Summer Village

Somewhere in there I will also attend my daughter's orchestra concert and complete two case studies for my grad class.

Happy reading, and don't forget to visit Jen and Kellee over at TeachMentorTexts to see what others are reading, too!

  1. I have Insurgent sitting on my bookshelf. I know once I start I won't be able to stop and don't have the time right now to read it straight through. Also, all of my students have told me that the ending will irritate me that the third one isn't out. Wondering if I can wait for awhile.

  2. I adored Pink and liked Wither. Burnout looks very intriguing. I might have to add it to my TBR list! Still haven't drummed up the nerve to read Insurgent. I'm afraid it will make me totally impatient for the third book!

  3. One of my students just donated Wither, and it does sound intriguing. A summer read, perhaps.

  4. Wonder why the boys get to live longer, or is it punishment? Interesting. You have some books on your list I'll have to check out. I've not heard of some, so thanks for telling about them. I have hear five fourths of July is good! Thanks, Mindi

  5. I liked Wither, but haven't picked up Fever yet. The story was good, but not in the "OMG, I need the next book NOW!" sense...ala Insurgent :)

I'm reading Shatter Me right now. I saw the author in April, and she was too sweet! Entwined is on my list as well. I love the Twelve Dancing Princesses story when I was younger, so I can't wait to see it updated.

  6. Hooray for grad class...I mean, you've started, right? That means you are that much closer to the end. I am excited to read Insurgent. So cool that you got to go to Anderson's on Friday night. Hoping to take my kiddo to see Eric Litwin on Wednesday!
